Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books That You can Read in a Day

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Today's topic is: Top Ten Books to Read in a Day

1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
The last book I read in one day. I dare you to stop reading it.

2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
 Duh.

3. Wonder by RJ Palacio
Amazing, heartwarming story about a boy with a severe facial deformity who goes to school for the first time. I read it in a weekend and if I didn't have papers to grade I probably would've read it in a day.

4. The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate
Sparse and beautiful, sad and joyful. It reads like a novel in verse. Ivan is destined to become a children's classic

5. The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex
With a main character with the name Gratuity and an alien named J.Lo, hilarity ensues with great frequency in this novel.

6. Shine by Lauren Myracle
Compelling and disturbing, the ending stayed with me for a very long time.

7. Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo
One of the best dog books ever written because... the dog doesn't die at the end!

8. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Perkins' first novel was so full of heart and wonderful characters that you just can't stop turning the pages.

9. Whale Talk by Chris Crutcher
Chris Crutcher is the master at writing compelling, albeit controversial stories. The controversy compels you to read. The lovable characters keep you turning the page.

10. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Cried so hard with this book I gave myself a headache. But it was oh so worth it. Remember laying in my bed just sobbing uncontrollably.

  1. I've read a few of these in a day: Hunger Games, Fault in Our Stars, and If I Stay. I've had Anna on my list forever. Maybe I should just devote a day to it:)

  2. Love this list! I've read a few on here that I agree were fantastic - like The Hunger Games series - and I have others on my TBR list ... one day I will get to Shine because the cover is so gorgeous.
