Goodreads summary:
Since her release from
Liberty Children's Facility, Anya Balanchine is determined to follow the
straight and narrow. Unfortunately, her criminal record is making it
hard for her to do that. No high school wants her with a gun possession
charge on her rap sheet. Plus, all the people in her life have moved on:
Natty has skipped two grades at Holy Trinity, Scarlet and Gable seem
closer than ever, and even Win is in a new relationship. But when old
friends return demanding that certain debts be paid, Anya is thrown
right back into the criminal world that she had been determined to
escape. It’s a journey that will take her across the ocean and straight
into the heart of the birthplace of chocolate where her resolve--and her
heart--will be tested as never before.

I don't remember, to be honest, but I LOVE dystopians.
ReplyDeleteAbout a year ago! I got all of these dystopians at once. They were All of these Things I Have Done, Starters, Battle Royale and Blood Red Road!
ReplyDeleteIt was probably when I actually enjoyed reading a required school book, 1984 and Brave New World. But my first "For Fun" dystopian was Matched series and the Hunger Games series. Picking those up back in 2010 definitely changed my reading habits, for the better!
ReplyDeleteA little over a year ago :)
ReplyDeleteactually I'm a newbie to it! Exposed by blog reading!
ReplyDeleteThe Hunger Games won me over a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteMy sophomore year of high school when I read THG. I'm a freshman in college now!
ReplyDeleteI think the first dystopian book I read was Matched in 2010, but there are several that I read before that may either be dystopian or post-apocalyptic. SOmetimes it's hard to tell the difference between the two.
ReplyDeleteLast year when I read Under the Never Sky and Eve! After that, I was hooked :D
ReplyDeleteI read The Hunger Games during college and couldn't put it down!
ReplyDeleteNot really sure when it happened but I love dystopian.
ReplyDeleteNewbie to it... Always looking for something to either challenge me or one of my 4 daughters
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
I am fairly new to his genre and started last year reading Hunger Games. I am definitely looking for more and I absolutely love a good audiobook; they just scream road trip LOL
ReplyDeleteI loved it once I read the Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago when I first read Maze Runner and The Hunger Games and Matched.
ReplyDeleteAfter I read Divergent and then Insurgent, then was mad I had to wait more than a year and a half for book 3, lol I had not read Hunget Games, did see the movie, am thinking the book has to be better. (did not like the actor choice for Peeta at all)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I also got even more into dystopian when I read Darkness Falls and Darkness Breaks by Jessica Sorensen, as it messhed dystopian with paranormal, which is even better.
thanks
The Hunger Games trilogy renewed my interest in dystopian novels.
ReplyDeleteIt started after I read Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I loved the book so much and the series. It really just got me into dystopian because of how crazy things can happen in those societies.
ReplyDeleteI started to enjoy it after reading The Hunger Games series, but I truly became a fan after reading the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman.
ReplyDeleteI read unwind and hunger games
ReplyDeleteActually, I am pretty new to this genre. THe only thing I have read that I know for sure is Dystopian is the Hunger Games trilogy.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading all of the Hunger Games.

ReplyDeleteI didn't discover this genre until I was in my 20's! So much time wasted! lol =)
