I looked up The Black Book of Colors-interesting concept & I'm so glad to know about it. Have ordered Journey from the library & looking forward to Duke. Thanks for so much, Beth!
ReplyDeleteThat unicorn book was adorable! I read and loved The Day the Crayons Quit. I have Rose Under Fire and really need to get busy with it. I could not get into Everyday, but I am certainly in the minority there. Have a great week! http://wp.me/pzUn5-1Ck
ReplyDeleteWon't middle school students find Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great hysterical? Can't wait to try Wein's next one, too!
ReplyDeleteI loved Odd Duck. I am looking forward to Journey. I have seen a lot about it lately on Twitter and blogs. I have Monstrous Beauty on my TBR & Rose Under Fire is waiting for me. I am a little afraid of it after Code Name Verity. I hope it's not a crying book again. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI loved Every Day. It was such a great allegory, and my students love it. They recommend it again and again. :)
ReplyDeleteI also have Rose Under Fire on my TBR list. I am really curious if it is as good as her first book, and I think my high expectations have led me to avoid reading it so far. Your post gave me the push, so I will read it within the next week or two. Perhaps, we can compare notes!
Odd Duck is a terrific title. I can't wait to share it with students. Lots of lesson potential.
ReplyDeleteOh I so want to read Rose Under Fire! Can't wait. I really enjoyed the first Penguin book (& Pinecone) Hoping that the rest remain as good! What great picture books this week! You've been on a bit of a picture book roll!
ReplyDeleteJourney arrived in my mailbox today, and I agree with your review 100%! Stunning! Can't wait to share this book with students & teachers. The rest of your picture book titles are new to me. My list grows ever longer! Thanks for the suggestions!
