  1. I loved the illustrations in Migrant. The story was too difficult for my son to understand, but I thought it could lead to great discussions in the classroom. I loved the PB bio of Edward Hopper--really a superb book. Will be interested in your response to We Were Liars. I found it very frustrating but seems like most readers found it powerful and important.

  2. The Edward Hopper book looks intriguing - as does Migrant. You remind me that I need to get back to adding picture books to my reading diet, Beth.

  4. So pleased to see Migrant here. I really enjoyed that title and look forward to sharing it with my class this year. I just stated El Deafo and would like everything to stop so I could curl in a corner and just read! Loving it so far

  5. When you finish Liars you'll have to let me know how it worked as an audio. That could be interesting! That was a good book... and I bet I read it so quickly I missed a lot. It would be a good reread!

  6. Migrant sounds like the perfect book for me. I did see this one featured in Brainpickings.org - and was described as somewhat like a strange Alice in Wonderland. Will definitely be on the lookout for it.
