Originally hosted by Sheila at Book Journey, Jen over at Teach Mentor Texts along with Kellee and Ricki at Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It's Monday! What are You Reading?
My Monday posts are generally just a highlight of what I've been reading
during the week so if you'd like to see all that I've been reading,
follow my Goodreads page.
We've come to that point in the semester where I'm starting to get overwhelmed and that is clearly reflected in my reading for this week, which is pretty negligible.
I finished reading:
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
Just as special as the first time I read it.
Currently reading with my ears:
Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes
A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
On my teaching blog I wrote:
Celebrate teaching and learning with PLN Colleagues: #MCTE14
I loved Aristotle and Dante too, and A long Walk To Water is one classrooms should own, except for the youngest, I suppose. I looked up Anatomy of A Misfit-looks good, have bookmarked it! Thanks Beth, best wishes to you in finding a little more time for you!
ReplyDeleteOverdrive had Anatomy as the Big Read pick this year. I was going to listen to it as well but got busy. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteAnatomy of a Misfit sounds interesting - perhaps as a book on tape, too.
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to read/listen to A Long Walk to Water for quite some time now. I am looking forward to your thoughts about it. Have you read the hard copy?
ReplyDeleteI just recently saw Anatomy of a Misfit. I'll be interested in seeing your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteAristotle and Dante is just one of those quiet, perfect books. I love it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy A Long Walk to Water. It is a book that makes me want to change the world. You should read The Milk of Birds if you like A Long Walk to Water.
Happy reading this week! :)
Aristotle and Dante is one that I read more than once and know I will revisit. I really enjoyed A Long Walk to Water. I wish you quality reading if you can't have quantity. :)
ReplyDeleteI can imagine that Aristotle and Dante would be an amazing reread. Good luck in this busy time.
ReplyDeleteI still need to read Aristotle and Dante. I started it but set it aside when other books grabbed my attention. I do love the cover!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to put Aristotle and Dante on my 2015 list....
ReplyDeleteWe just fell in love with Ari and Dante at GatheringBooks. All three of us ladies. We had a virtual Google Chat discussion because of this beautiful book. Saenz' Last Night I sang to the monster is also particularly powerful. Have a great reading week!
