It's Monday! What are you reading? 1-3-22

It's Monday! What are you reading? Is a wonderful community of readers, teachers, and librarians. Hosted by Jen over at Teach Mentor Texts along with Kellee and Ricki at Unleashing Readers, participants share their reading adventures from the past week along with their reading plans for the week ahead.

My Monday posts are generally just a highlight of what I've been reading during the week so if you'd like to see all that I've been reading, follow my Goodreads page.

Happy 2022! On New Year's Eve, I wrote about what were my favorite books of 2021

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe was a life-changing and heart-changing book for me. So it’s hard not to make comparisons to the two books. While this book didn’t have as much impact to me, it was still an honor and a privilege to get to spend some more time with Ari and Dante. Especially since the venerable Lin-Manuel Miranda narrates the audiobook.

Currently reading:

Riley's Ghost by John David Anderson
Keep Going by Austin Kleon

Currently reading with my ears:

My Jasper June by Laurel Snyder

  1. I haven't read any of these, Beth, but only the Midwest Survival Guide is missing from my lists! The "Everything with Ranch" offers a big smile for sure! Happy New Year!

  2. What a great set of books, Beth! I took a look at your favorites of 2021 and wrote some things down, and I am hoping to review Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World in a couple of weeks—I'm so glad you liked it! The other books you've been reading sound great as well. Thanks so much for the wonderful post, and happy new year!

  3. I still need to start from the beginning with Aristotle and Dante. I feel like I need to cover my ears any time someone talks about it so that I can enter with fresh eyes. LOL And I remember enjoying My Jasper June. I hope you are as well, Beth!

  5. I agreed with what you wrote about the Aristotle and Dante books needing to be talked about together. I haven't read My Jasper June yet but it looks interesting. I should really get better and reading with my ears. Thanks for sharing these thoughts on the books.

  8. I adored Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, but couldn't get into Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World. I will try it again because sometimes it's just not the right time for book.
